Review: Tasmanian Tiger – TT Secret Cummerbund

I am happy to present you another review, written by my dear friend and Pine Survey contributor Alzwolf. The last few months he was taking a closer look at Tasmanian Tiger’s TT Secret Cummerbund. Here are his observations:

Tasmanian Tiger TT Secret Cummerbund

Introduction

Welcome to a new review! Lately we’ve had the opportunity to take a closer look at some Tasmanian Tiger products, which were introduced in 2020. So today I am very happy to write about the TT Secret Cummerbund, Tasmanian Tiger’s take on an old concept to conceal carry.

Overview

The idea behind the TT Secret Cummerbund is to carry your tactical equipment and weapons as inconspicuously as possible in your everyday life. The cummerbund has a simple design so that the user does not attract attention with his official or tactical equipment. The following applies here: disguise and deceive. With the TT Secret Cummerbund, the user should be able to move in public, whether in the opera, cinema, theatre, subway, train, bus or any urban areas in an absolute stealth mode.

The cummerbund is a timeless and favoured way of concealing your pistol or revolver around your waist, beneath your shirt. It’s also one of the best ways to conceal your firearm, whilst still allowing you to have easy access to your gun.

The TT Secret Cummerbund is not only suitable for professional users in the police and military, such as undercover agents, bodyguards, etc. who carry firearms and tactical equipment with them undercover – it can be used by everyone else as well. When traveling at home or abroad, in dangerous areas, etc., you can take your passport, cash, ticket and a mini IFAK with you.

The TT Secret Cummerbund

Construction

The cummerbund is made up of two 48cm long and 14cm wide parts, which are made from a different material mix of T-Stretch and CORDURA® 700Den. The two wings are managed with a bungee cord and cord stopper which allow the user to adjust the cummerbund in its width. The cummerbund is closed with a wide Velcro fastener.

The TT Secret Cummerbund has a total of eight elastic pockets. Two 5cm x 14cm pockets offer space for, for example, pistol magazines, flashlights, pocketknives or other narrow objects.

The two largest pockets, 11cm x 14cm, each have a 5cm x 7cm velcro surface on the inside. This allows the user to individually use velcro to fix a holster or magazine pouches. The Tasmanian Tiger “Internal VL R” fits in there very well and holds the weapon securely and concealed in place.

Furthermore, there are four medium-sized pockets, 9cm x 14cm – each with a different sized velcro surface on the outside. Here you have the possibility, to attach external pockets or identification badges for example. These pouches are suitable for radios, cell phones, bandages, tourniquets, rifle magazines, etc.

Six of the eight pockets have two 2cm wide and stable Cordura loops opposite of each other. With a pulled rubber band or bungee cord, it is possible to secure your equipment.

From left to right you can see the arrangement of the pockets described above.

Carrying methods

The main reason and purpose of the TT Secret Cummerbund is to take equipment with you and not attract attention. Whether sportswear, casual wear, business suits, evening wear or lederhosen – the equipment should be invisible.Bulges and typical dents on clothing should be avoided, no attention should be drawn, and discovery prevented. With the help of a few pictures I will show you various examples of how you can use the TT Secret Cummerbund. Please remember that you can only master easy access in an emergency by constantly practicing and familiarizing yourself with the equipment.

Very important:

We do not accept any liability for any damage that occurs when situations in the images are copied. Everyone is responsible for themselves and should train and handle (unloaded) weapons responsibly.

Conclusion

Personally, I like to carry my equipment with me mainly on the body. Of course, it shouldn’t be noticed and make others aware of it. The TT Secret Cummerbund offers a very good alternative to run an IFAK or weapons, whether on business or privately. I have worn it for several months now, whether under the Denim jeans, urban pants, sports dress and even during an event under a suit.

I hope I was able to give you a decent insight about the Tasmanian Tiger TT Secret Cummerbund. Thank you for reading and as always big Thanks to Tasmanian Tiger who made it possible for me to give you this review!

Take care!
