As always, the Austrian Armed Forces did showcase their capabilities and troops in celebration for Austria’s national holiday. Every year Vienna is the stage for all kinds military, be it the Nationalguard, the Pioneers, the Tank divisions and our Airbourne Community together with the Special Forces. Here you will find some random snapshots I took […]
Some pictures of A-TACS’ X-line of camouflage patterns at IWA.
As every year Armin and his Team of UF PRO managed to surprise everyone with products no one was expecting! This year it was the urban line with streamlined and low provile pants as well as an amazing Jacket with hints to a historical design and fabric that will make you drool: Etaproof aka Ventile […]
Introduction Regular readers of mine, as well as followers on Facebook and Instagram might know that I got hold of several camouflage uniforms this year – courtesy of Helikon Tex. With this means available to me, I was able to shoot several comparison pictures throughout the year. With the following review I want to show […]
In previous camouflage comparisons I have focused mainly on the newest and/or dominant patterns available and those in use by “western” militaries. At the same time I was restricted to what was at hand. As you know, I got my hands on quite a lot of camouflage patterns in the previous months so I am […]
In my last review I took a closer look at three different semi-arid, transitional camouflage patterns: PenCott BadLands, Camogrom and Kryptek Highlander. For the sake of readability I split it in two parts – after all I had compiled around 30 pictures. Part 1 put the various camouflage patterns under absolute extreme exposure, showing the […]
Some time has passed since my last camouflage comparison and to be honest, I was quite surprised by the attention my last fieldtest attracted. The article was a little bit provoking to be honest, but apparently that was what started a very fruitful exchange on various platforms. One thing let to another and the team […]
In September I published a small field test on the performance of SloCam in the European forest environment. In this particular previous review I also mentioned I had taken some pictures with uniform sets in Multicam and PenCott Greenzone as well. In the following review I want to present this mentioned material as well as […]
It feels silly to write about the application of certain camouflage patterns in winter time when it has nearly 20°C outside and spring is in full blossom. But here I am, working off my material, that has been piling up in the recent months. In the end it is winter somewhere on this planet in […]
If Pine Survey is notorious of something in this huge universe of review blogs it is camouflage reviews. Those reports of mine are still among those with the highest hit count and if I get asked something via PM or mail it is about camouflage with a 75% chance.
With that being said I want to present you yet another small contribution to the list of camouflage evaluations. I have introduced SloCam to you guys before in 1-2 reviews. Those were done with a sole cloth of fabric, which is nice to get an first impression of the pattern itself, but it only tells half of the story.
After speaking with my friends at UF PRO, they were kind enough to field me a set of SloCam apparel. With that I was able to shoot some more pictures for you guys to give you an impression on how this camouflage pattern actually looks in the wild. This will only be a small part of a coming series of reviews I am now able to do.
