A nice surprise during the show was the fact that Vanquest was exhibiting its products for the very first time at IWA. I wanted to take a look at their gear for quite some time and was pleased to see that there is way more to them than meets the eye.

At first look these packs might look like a different variant of Maxpedition’s gear, but if you talk to the people behind it and look at their product ideas, this perception changes completely. The R&D people are in fact former designers of MP who left the company when they felt the company was going into the wrong direction.

Looking at the packs, bags and pouches, I immediately could see a love to detail you do not find often in the industry – and when some designs were explained to me further, I could not grasp, how someone would even come up with some of the details. This in combination with high quality materials like original Cordura, Ykk zippers, Duraflex hardware and real Hypalon made me realize why I moved away from MP a very long time ago. The minds behind Vanquest did the right thing and are offering now excellent gear as a result.

A review about a pack will come later this year!
